The Canadian Association of Thoracic Surgeons (CATS) is dedicated to promoting a national strategy of collaborative research to further the advancement of Thoracic Surgery.

CATS Database Vision: A national thoracic surgery database learning network, which performs local and national quality improvement (including best experience and evidence) and creates new knowledge, to standardize and improve care.

CATS Database Mission: The CATS National Database Quality Improvement and Research Project aims to reduce practice variation and identify best practices in thoracic surgery across Canada. It includes a centralized database with mechanisms to standardize data collection using synoptic operating room reporting of the operation and adverse events and outcomes, partnered with local and national quality improvement processes with sharing of effective practices.

We would like to thank our sponsors for their generous support of the CATS Quality Improvement Program and Database.
