On September 26 and 27, 1998, the first annual meeting of CATS was held in Toronto, and Dr. Griff Pearson presented the first F. Griffin Pearson Lectureship on the The History of Esophageal Surgery in Canada. Continuing the tradition, the Pearson Lecture is given at the CATS annual meeting in September.
